What does a cannabis habit really cost?

Answer three questions and see it in money and in hours — this year, and over ten. Every number below shows its own arithmetic, so you can check it, share it, or just sit with it.

Questions people ask first

How much does a cannabis habit cost per year?

It depends entirely on frequency and spend, which is why this calculator exists rather than a single number. As a rough anchor: $20 a week is $1,040 a year, $40 a week is $2,080 a year, and $70 a week is $3,640 a year — move the sliders above to your own numbers, and the maths under each result shows exactly how it was worked out.

What would I save if I cut back or stop?

The same arithmetic run from the other direction: whatever you'd stop spending per week, multiplied by 52, is what you'd keep in a year — and by 520 over ten. The free report goes a step further and builds a plan around whichever goal you pick, whether that's cutting back, taking a break, or stopping.

Where do these numbers come from?

Your own answers, multiplied out — sessions on a day you use × how many of those days a week × 52 weeks for the time and session totals; spend per week × 52 for the money. Effects are assumed to last about 2.5 hours a session and a waking day is counted as 16 hours. Nothing is invented, and nothing is saved unless you choose to get the free report.
